For decades ozone therapy has been used successfully to treat a wide variety of medical conditions. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has set standards for the strength and frequency of use of ozone in various industries. Ozone therapy has been found to be effective in treating a number of illnesses and symptoms. Conditions ozone therapy can benefit include:

Cavities. Serious dental issues are often cited as a reason for seeking ozone therapy. Tooth decay is expensive and difficult to treat. It’s costly because it is expensive to buy ozone therapy equipment and it is expensive to supply patients with it. The EPA sets recommended guidelines but has not set any requirements on how to use ozone therapy on dental equipment.

Treat With Ozone Therapy

Chronic ear infections caused by dust and other airborne debris. Airborne viruses and bacteria release toxins in the air that can cause respiratory illnesses. Ear infections are especially difficult to treat with ozone therapy because the air that is breathed contains too many oxygen atoms for the patient’s delicate ear hair follicles to neutralize.

Macular degeneration. Asthma and emphysema are two chronic respiratory illnesses often treated with ozone therapy. These conditions both result in red blood cells that are smaller than normal and do not transport oxygen to the lungs. Ozone therapy is used to reduce inflammation of the manual so the red blood cells can get to the lung.

Chronic bronchitis. The symptoms of chronic bronchitis are coughing and wheezing. The most common gas formation in the upper respiratory system is ozone due to its high molecular weight. The EPA has established recommended ozone therapy limits based on the concentration of oxygen molecules in the gas and the frequency and magnitude of gas release.

Respiratory illnesses and diseases caused by dust and other airborne debris. This treatment is usually performed on patients who cannot take regular treatments that contain many oxygen atoms. This treatment also has been shown to relieve symptoms in smokers who were unable to quit due to the risk of lung cancer. The recommended ozone therapy limit is 0.3 milligrams of gas per cubic meter of air or one milligram of gas per million cubic feet of air. It has also been shown that medical ozone therapy helps reduce the number and intensity of outbreaks among allergic individuals.

Fungal infections and infectious diseases caused by yeast, mold, and bacteria. This type of therapy has also proven effective in fighting severe nail fungus infections, sinus infections, and cold sores. Medical ozone therapy kills the anaerobic, Gram positive (Gram negative) bacteria in the nose and throat by creating high ozone levels in the air. This kills the bacteria which can cause respiratory infections. As of yet, there has been little research on the effects of ozone therapy on patients who are HIV positive or those with cystic fibrosis.

Common Side Effect Of This Therapy

There are a number of side effects associated with medical ozone injections. Skin irritation is typically the first symptom reported, followed by temporary discoloration and redness in the treated areas. The most common side effect of this therapy is increased redness, itching and swelling of the treated wounds. This will subside after a few days and the wounds should begin to heal after three to four weeks.

The increase in white blood cell activity which usually accompanies ozone therapy is thought to promote the healing process and reduce pain. This is why it is often prescribed in the acute setting following surgical operations, like open-heart surgery, or severe burns. It has also been shown to speed up the rehabilitation process for patients who have undergone major trauma and to prevent infections from recurring.

Since ozone iv ozone therapy only affects the bacteria and viruses that enter the body through the skin, the possibility of cross infection is eliminated. This will allow the patient to return to normal activities at a faster pace without any additional pain medications or risk of infection. If an individual already has an existing infection, however, they may wish to wait before undergoing this treatment. The reason is that the pain and discomfort from an infection could be enhanced by ozone therapy. It could also make it easier to obtain additional pain medication if the infection is present.

As mentioned above, there are many different reasons why individuals may want to seek out ozone therapy to treat their macular degeneration, including those with severe, chronic infections. However, they may also choose to undergo this therapy due to the benefits it provides in speeding up the body’s natural repair process. In addition to boosting the body’s natural ability to heal itself, ozone therapy may also help to improve vision for some individuals.
