Ali Ata - Reasons Why The Premier League Should be Scared of Chelsea

I was doing my monthly podcast with the brilliant Ali Ata last week and we got on to the topic of who was going to win the league this season. Whilst so many think that Manchester City will run away with it, or that United could be the difference makers, or perhaps even that Liverpool will sort back in the running, I personally think that it will be Chelsea who will have a great season and they are very much the team that everyone should be scared of.

They have already won the Champions League despite being written off early on, and here is why each team who is considering a run for the title should be very afraid.

The Power Of Tuchel

The Chelsea manager Tomas Tuchel is absolutely brilliant, a true magician when it comes to tactics as we saw in the Champions League final against Manchester City last season. This man knows how to get the very best out of players and after giving just about every Chelsea player a try, he now knows exactly what team he wants and how he wants to set them up. So much of the games in the league come down to tactical nous, and that is exactly what the Blue’s boss has.

Young Players Growth

This is a team which has had some absolutely exceptional youngsters over the last couple of years, and now those players are a year older and a year wiser. We have already seen the emergence of the brilliant Mason Mount, who was a key part of the England team during the World Cup. Add to this the likes of Hudson-Odoi, Gilmour and James, and you have some absolutely incredible young talent coming through. This will form a key part of the Chelsea set up this year.

A Learning Year

It is still pretty scary to consider the fact that we are yet to see the best of players like Ziyech, Werner and Harvetz. With this being said however, these players are now a year older and have had a year to settle into their new lives at the club. Make no mistake that Tuchel will have ben working hard with these three players during the off-season to get them up to scratch, and that can be a scary prospect for us all.

Winning the Champions League has been such an amazing achievement for this team and it has proven to them they do have what it takes to win big things. This team can take that belief and run with it, turning it into a title charge. The belief which is running through this side is incredible and there will be no doubt in their minds that they have what it takes to win a title alongside their teammates.

All of this can be said before the Blues even buy any more players in the window, which they surely will.
