So, I plucked your book off the professional review shelf at the Towson Public Library today, read the Foreword and the Introduction, then started showing it around to the other librarians with glee: "Look! This is teh shit!" AAAAND found out I was late to the party - two of the other 4 librarians who were working today already had it on hold! I loved listening to the Little House books with my sons on CD for exactly the reasons you cite - I kept marveling at the friggin PERIL these people were in!
